PROVIDING CARE:
Veterinary, Dental, and Medical
We all know how costly medical, dental, and veterinary expenses get. But in many impoverished communities in developing countries, the idea of healthcare is unfathomable: it is simply unaffordable and too difficult to seek for the citizens.
Global Medical Training (GMT) is an international humanitarian non-profit organization that provides free health services in underprivileged communities in Central America. If you are interested in learning, helping others, and gaining an understanding about global health issues, then join us in our mission!
The GMT organization provides the unique opportunity of direct hands-on experience for members like you in medical, dental, and/or veterinary care through mobile clinics in underserved areas. By working alongside and assisting doctors - physicians, dentists, and veterinarians - students gain firsthand clinical skills and knowledge while helping patients. You will also immerse in a rich culture, meet and help people in need, and be a part of the GMT family. Learn by doing. Together, we can make a difference.
GMT at UCD is composed of a diverse group of students who share the same passion to improve health. We host meetings, workshops, social events, and volunteer functions. GMT at UCD is also partnered with Princeton Review, MedSchool Coach, as well as the Disque Foundation. Because of this, all general members receive 30% off Princeton Review prep courses and free CPR, AED, and first aid certification!
Be sure to fill out our information form and follow us on social media to stay up to date with upcoming events/sessions (more information on our home page and Facebook). We look forward to meeting you!
